Songkun Wan

Born in Hubei, China

Lives & works in Guangzhou, China

Songkun Wan's work involves contemporary performance, moving images, theatre, and poetry. His practice is based on social identity and gender analysis, using soft context to express the intimate relationship between people and the psychological trauma experienced by artists. He is committed to breaking the physical barriers between scenes and circumstances, connecting audience and visual practice with empathy and synaesthesia. Graduated from the Royal College of Art, Songkun has been widely performed in the public program across China and Europe, including 'The Return of The Repressed' - Migratory300 - Aranya Theater Festival, 'kinaesthesia' - Royal Academy of Music, 'Mobile Archive' – Sadler’s wells theatre, 'Love Me Tender' - Shenzhen OCAT Art Museum.
